Hi! My name is K.C. Oakley and I am a member of the United States Freestyle Ski Team.
I started skiing at Squaw Valley when I was six years old and quickly got better than my parents, so they signed me up for the freestyle team at Alpine Meadows, where my cousin coached. As a fearless little kid, catching big air and skiing fast was pure enjoyment for me. I figured that, if I was not falling, I was not trying hard enough.
It has always been important to me to be well-balanced though, so while I have taken on this whirlwind of a ski career, I have also completed my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley and started a foundation called Jill's Legacy with my friends.
And at the heart of it all, I am a true California girl—lover of the beach, sun, and waves – and snow! Skiing has taught me so much about working hard and making my dreams come true. Now, I am off to attain my goals of competing at the Olympics and winning World Cups.
